Like the Night concerns the afterlife of Katherine Thomas, a 684-year-old graduate student with serious daddy issues. She also happens to like blood, a lot. Kat – as she is known by her few friends – gave up on dating after she lost her virginity, aged 166, to a man who tried to burn her at the stake. That was a seriously bad breakup. Kat’s world is turned upside down when a handsome and stubborn FBI agent walks into her Medieval Studies conference and accuses her sister of murder. Now Kat needs to find the real killer – and not fall in love – before she is exposed for what she is: a Revenant.

Kristina Pérez is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong. She is also the author of A Hedonist’s Guide to Beijing and writes regularly for the Wall Street Journal Asia, American Express, CNNGo.com, and Condé Nast Traveler. Kristina received her PhD from the University of Cambridge. Her first fiction and non-fiction titles are forthcoming. When not writing, she can be found singing in the Kassia Choir of Hong Kong.
